FBI Releases New Details in Nancy Guthrie Case, Increases Reward to $100,000
New Description of Suspect Released
According to the FBI, the suspect is described as having an average build and an approximate height of 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10. He was seen on the front porch camera of Nancy Guthrie's home wearing a black-colored 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. The FBI has released photos of a similar backpack for reference, which were obtained through forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage.
Reward Increased to $100,000
The FBI has increased its reward from $50,000 to $100,000 for information leading to either the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. The agency has received over 13,000 tips so far in the case.
New Developments in Investigation
Earlier this week, sources told CBS News that a pair of black gloves had been found during the search for Guthrie. The gloves resembled one seen on the hand of the suspect and are being tested for DNA. Authorities have also been investigating ransom demands made in Bitcoin.
Family's Plea for Safe Return
Savannah Guthrie, Nancy's daughter and a co-host of NBC's 'Today' show, has released several social media videos pleading directly to the abductor or abductors. In one video, the family indicated they were willing to pay for Nancy's safe return.
The FBI's release of new details in the Nancy Guthrie case and increase in reward is a significant development in the investigation. As the search for Nancy continues, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring her home safely.
